ProductPlan alternative

A ProductPlan alternative you can price without a demo

ProductPlan has grown into a product intelligence platform, priced per builder seat and quoted after a demo. Roadmark is the roadmap on its own — a flat, published price, a free plan to try it on, and the history of every change kept on the board.

Their own words

What ProductPlan is, in its own words

What their public pages say, each linked to the page it came from.

  • ProductPlan now calls itself a “Product Intelligence Platform”: it “connects customer feedback, AI research, priorities, and dev updates into one live plan”. Source on www.productplan.com
  • Its pricing page describes a single plan — “One plan, everything and everyone included” — and asks you to book a demo for the price. Source on www.productplan.com/pricing
  • You pay for the people who build: “You add seats as your team of builders grows. Everyone else continues to view for free.” A builder is “Anyone actively building, editing, or managing roadmaps.” Source on www.productplan.com/pricing
  • “Any roadmap can be shared as a live link with customers, partners, executives, or external vendors, always showing the latest version, at no extra cost.” Source on www.productplan.com/pricing
  • Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub and Trello are among the integrations their integrations page lists. Source on www.productplan.com/integrations
Pricing

A quote against a price on the page

Both keep viewers free. The difference is what you pay for the people who build, and whether you can find out before talking to sales.

The difference

What Roadmark is for

Not a feature count. One idea, and the two things that follow from it.

The old plan stays on the canvas

When the plan changes you fork it instead of editing over it. Both timelines stay visible — the one you committed to and the one you switched to — so the roadmap carries its own history rather than resetting to whatever is true this week.

Every fork carries the reason

A branch cannot be created without a decision log. Months later the board still answers “why did this date move”, and the public Decision Feed turns that record into a page you can send to an investor or a customer.

The link stays true on its own

Boards sync from 10 issue trackers and planning tools — Linear, Jira and GitHub among them — so the link you sent last quarter reflects what has shipped since. Read-only viewers are unlimited and free, which is what makes sending it the default.

Honestly

When they are the better choice

Where we would not switch, and would rather say so here than after you have moved a roadmap across.

  • You want customer feedback, research and prioritisation feeding the roadmap inside one platform. Roadmark is the roadmap only, and we are not building toward a suite.
  • You want edits on the roadmap to flow back into Jira or Azure DevOps. Roadmark imports read-only — your tracker is never written to.
  • You need scoring frameworks or capacity planning before an item reaches the roadmap. Roadmark does not score work; it records the decisions you made about it.
Switching

Moving from ProductPlan

What the move actually involves, step by step.

  1. Connect the tracker the work lives in

Import from 10 issue trackers and planning tools — Linear, Jira and GitHub among them — and keep the board in sync: it pulls the latest once a day on its own. The import only reads; nothing in your tracker changes.

  2. Or bring a spreadsheet

Anything you can save as a CSV file can become a board: upload it, choose which columns hold the title, date, status and description, and check the preview before you import. Rows without a date come across undated rather than being dropped.

  3. Send the read-only link

Turn on the public link in Share. Anyone with it can read the roadmap and its Decision Feed without an account, and none of them takes a seat. It can be embedded on your own site too.

Questions

ProductPlan and Roadmark, answered

How much does ProductPlan cost?
Their pricing page (linked above) describes one plan charged by builder seats, with viewers free, and quotes the amount after a demo. Roadmark’s prices are on our pricing page, with nothing to book first.
Can I import a roadmap from ProductPlan?
There is no ProductPlan importer in Roadmark. If your roadmap mirrors Jira, GitHub or another tracker we support, import from the tracker and the board stays in sync. Anything else can come across as a CSV file.
Is Roadmark free?
Yes. The Free plan keeps 1 roadmap, imports from any supported tool and shares public read-only links with as many people as you like. A new account also gets 7 days of Pro, no card asked; when that ends you stay on Free with everything kept.

See one before you decide

Our own roadmap is public, pivots and all — the abandoned branches are still on it, which is the whole point. Read it first; the sign-up can wait.
